Vets for Hudson: A Persistent Veteran Coalition
Jared Hudson is building a veteran coalition unlike any other in Alabama politics. This is not a temporary election tool designed to secure votes and then dissolve once the campaign ends. Instead, the coalition is engineered to endure throughout Jared's entire term in office—and beyond—serving as a permanent bridge between veterans, their families, and the resources they need.
The organization will bring together veterans and non-veteran professionals from the industries that serve them most directly—especially the medical sector—so that every decision is informed by multiple, real-world perspectives. While veteran status is strongly preferred, it is not a requirement. Members will represent every branch of service, every rank from junior enlisted to senior officers, and every military occupational specialty (MOS) across the board. This deliberate diversity ensures the coalition reflects the full spectrum of Alabama's veteran community.
The coalition's core mission is direct, ongoing communication with veterans statewide. It will serve as a two-track engine for change:
Track 1 – Strategic, Long-Term Projects
These are the complex, high-impact initiatives that will take years to fully realize. Some may extend beyond a single term. Medical access is the flagship priority. The coalition will systematically map and integrate every federal program, state agency, and nonprofit resource in Alabama so veterans can instantly see what services are available near them. No more fragmented lists or outdated directories. The coalition will maintain a single, continuously validated, living database that answers the questions veterans actually ask: "What does this organization do? What can it provide? Is it available here?"
Track 2 – Rapid "Quick Wins"
Parallel to the long-term work, the coalition will deliver immediate, tangible improvements that do not require legislation—streamlined processes, better information flow, and faster service delivery that can be implemented now.
Additional foundational efforts include:
- Developing secure, privacy-first methods to locate and communicate with veterans across the state so critical information reaches them quickly.
- Creating a permanent feedback loop that captures real-time challenges and ideas directly from the veteran community.
This is a deliberate break from the familiar political pattern. Too many candidates invoke veterans on the campaign trail only to become unreachable once in office. Jared Hudson and his team reject that approach. The Vets for Hudson coalition is built to last. It will require a lot of volunteers, sustained effort, and the kind of selfless discipline veterans know well—personalities and egos stepping aside for the mission.
Alabama is home to one of the highest per-capita veteran populations in the nation. These men and women wrote a blank check to their country, and they are a vital part of what makes this state great. Vets for Hudson honors that sacrifice by delivering results that outlive any election cycle—results that are measurable, sustained, and veteran-led.
